About Me
I have spent over 20 years navigating the evolving landscape of technology. From the early days of traditional software engineering to the modern frontiers of AI and data architecture, I have seen just about every way a system can succeed and, more importantly, every way it can break.
I currently operate as a Principal Engineer and Data Product Manager. I have spent my career balancing high-level strategy with the "boots-on-the-ground" reality of an individual contributor. I do not just talk about data governance or AI frameworks; I build them.
Why "Bless Your Data"?
In the South, "Bless your heart" is a versatile phrase. It can be a genuine sentiment or a polite way of saying you are a disaster. In the world of tech, most data systems deserve a little bit of both. I started this blog to share the unfiltered truth about our industry. Whether it is building RAG frameworks in Snowflake, navigating the ethics of Responsible AI, or fixing a legacy pipeline held together by hope and duct tape, I am here to tell you how it actually works.
The Credentials
While I rely heavily on two decades of experience, I am a firm believer in continuous evolution. I hold a BS in Computer Science (Magna Cum Laude) and recently completed my Master of Science in Computer Science from Georgia Tech, specializing in Interactive Intelligence (AI). My recent work is centered on AI, Machine Learning, and Reinforcement Learning, specifically how we can make these "black box" technologies transparent, ethical, and most importantly, valuable to the end user.
When I am Not Fixing Data
If I am not at my desk, I am likely leaning into my other roles: wife, mother, and "Grammy" to four granddaughters who keep me on my toes. You might also find me tending to the smoker (because good BBQ takes as much patience as a slow-loading query), managing a household overseen by two Shih Tzus, Jackson and Lilly, or getting lost in a book on my Kindle.
Let’s Connect
I believe in high-impact work and human-sounding communication. If you are looking for corporate jargon and "synergy," you are in the wrong place. However, if you want a deep dive into data engineering with a side of Southern sarcasm, you are right where you need to be. I am always interested in connecting with fellow builders and leaders. If you have a complex data problem you are trying to solve or if you just want to talk shop about the future of AI, feel free to reach out.
